In the world we are in today, people are quick to judge others based off of first impressions. While it is easy to look at the flaws in others, it is even easier to ignore the flaws within ourselves. This can be demonstrated in the Bible verse John 8:7, “When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’” The people around Jesus approached an assumed prostitute and wanted to stone her to death but Jesus refused the crowd. Prisoners, and incarcerated people are being cast away and shamed because of who they are and what they have done, but deep down they are still God’s children, the same as everyone else. Prisoners create an impression where they are discriminated and not treated the same way as anybody else. We cannot be so quick to judge other children of God without knowing each and every circumstance, therefore, it is important to help, pray, and care for the prisoners. Even a smile or wave could impact a life. This program is for anybody who are interested in how to help prisoners or past prisoners. It is for prisoners or past prisoners who need reassurance of life and finding Christ. It is a place of love, friendship, and to dream. Everybody deserves a second chance.
